The Passage by Justin Cronin-.5

So...technically I finished this book in 2010, but it was really good, so I'll write a review here. This was a book recommended by most "Best of" lists and Stephen King himself, so I put it on my library hold list. 6 months later and I finally got it...at a time when I told myself I would take a break from apocalyptic tales to allow myself a restful night of sleep. But, after waiting so long for the dang book, I decided to try it.

This time, the book is a Vampire apocalypse caused by the US Army and their quest for the perfect fighting machine. Hello? What's a better fighter than a vampire?! And so the tale begins with an FBI agent assigned to bring nasty death row inmates to the bunker to be infected with the vampire virus. I wonder what would have happened next if they had infected kind souls with the virus instead of hardened killers...

I'm really not sure how far to go into the plot, because I don't want to spoil the book for others. Maybe I'll keep that for my private journal and just tell you readers that I really enjoyed this book. Almost all 760 pages of it. I was disappointed with the end, but I don't think that it ruins the entire journey of the book.

A Blog about Books

So, I've decided to keep a blog of the books I read after a year in which I was asked by a myriad of people just how many books I read. So I'll keep track...and issue recommendations and welcome discussion.
